Heh, you're very welcome! The work that you two have done together is awesome! I especially love that you kind of went against the usual portrayals of Sauron and Melkor in regards to their fannon appearances and did your own stuff - especially with Melkor being the 'pretty one' And he really is fabulous! And a lot of your works are just super funny stuff so I really enjoyed looking through it
You're most welcome! Your ''Ulmo'' is absolutely stunning! I read your comment on the picture where you mentioned you had never done waves before and was scared to do so. Well, you really had no need to be so - I think you did a pretty awesome job there As for Ulmo himself, then I can honestly say your version is one of my favourite portrayals of him - for me it is right up there with John Howe's (and I think I might even like your design of him more!) The colouring, the way he rises from the waves, his face and beard, the perfect crown... I just really, really like it all
Thank you for your comment Im honoured and grateful that you liked him. I am a big fan of Alan Lee and John Howe. Im learning from them (I mean not exactly from them, from their books or biographies, documentaries.) I wish I was a student who learns from these wonderful Tolkien Scholars. And now you said You liked it more. It is hard to believe for me but also it is a wonderful thing that you say that Thank you again.
Well, I am glad my comment pleased you! Alan Lee and John Howe are both incredible amazing artists and I am a huge fan of their stunning works. But when it came to John's design of Ulmo (which I do think is terrific, majestic and really beautifully painted) the character just seemed almost too human in his appearance to me, despite his gigantic appearance. This just didn't fit with how I personally thought of the Valar (notice the 'personally' part!). They might resemble humans and elves vaguely, since they wanted their appearance to not be completely alien to elves/humans (you know, so they weren't too intimidating), but it does not really work for me personally if they appear ''too'' human since I always thought of them as being a kind of ''forces of nature'' - something which your Ulmo hit spot on, and in large part was what I liked so much about him Keep up the good work and the best of luck to you!
You're very welcome! Your Melkor comics actually had me laughing out loud - not only are they super funny, the expressions of the characters are very expressive and pretty hilarious And I love your Melkor - he's fabulous.
Your comment on 'Oppan Angband Style' also left me laughing - in particular the '' fell asleep over the sight of dancing elf ladies'' part - I never thought of the part with Lúthien dancing like that, but now I will probably always think of it when rereading it...
I just added 'Melkor Corrupts Men' to my favourites as well - Melkor's ''headlights'' are a thing of beauty
